Learning In Gri11 2.0

Here In GRI11 2.0 we have many learning spaces in fact we have more than any class so we are very lucky. We have the Hangout, The Hideout, The Hall Of Fame and The Hub. My current favourite space is the hub in fact I am in the Hub right now. Anyway let me explain the spaces. Fist the Hangout, The hangout is a social room for group activities. Then we have the Hideout witch is the opposite, The hideout is a silent room for individual activity. Next is The Hall Of Fame witch is just a hallway with a desk and chairs to work in. Then we have the Hub my personal favourite, The Hub is the main part of the classroom with desks, chairs, leaners, whiteboard tables and the trays where we store our books and stationary.

Anzac Day Assembly

Today the whole school went to the Anzac Assembly and book launch for the picture book Gladys Goes To War. This advent was in the hall and lots of parents joined. 2 children laid a wreath. 3 news and the mayor where there so we had to represent Collage Street Normal School. Some children read the book then the mayor officially launched it. I cant wait to read Gladys Goes To War myself!

2016 Swimming Sports

Yesterday all the seniors of the school went in a bus down to the lido so we could do swimming sports. We could participate 2 races each the choices where, 25 metre freestyle, 25 metre backstroke, 25 metre breaststroke, 25 metre butterfly and 25 metre flutter board. I entered backstroke and flutter board. I came 3rd in backstroke and 1st in flutter board. The non swimmers went to a different pool then the racing children. There was lots of noise and the wait was long but it was worth it once I got the feeling of a win. This was my last collage street swimming sports so I hope the intermediate I go to does it.

School Disco

Here at College Street Normal School we have disco every couple months. Yesterday we had a school disco and the theme was Rock Star. I went with my friend Zahra. It started at 7:00 pm so I picked Zahra up and we entered the hall. It was very loud when we entered but I didn't care although I could see some of the adults weren't enjoying the volume. 
Me and Zahra got right into it we both went strait to the front next to DJ Clive Robertson. Zahra won a bag of lollies from the DJ himself! So after that we found Dorothy she is another one of my friends. Next me and Zahra bought some drinks because we where getting very thirsty and tired and soon after that I won a bag of lollies from Mrs Dennison. Then me and Zahra decided to take a break and eat some potato chips so we bought a Little packet each then we realized there were only 2 more songs to go so we made the most of it and tired ourselves out. Then my Mum came to pick us up, it had been a long night. 

Young Leaders

Recently at Gri11 2.0 the people that wanted to become a young leader for CSNS made presentations to prove they would make a good young leader. Each class gets to select 1 young leader but because Gri11 2.0 is a double class we get to select 2 young leaders. Unfortunately I did not succeeded in becoming a young leader but anyway lets talk  a bit more about the jobs of young leaders. young leaders have to host the go for gold draw and organise various things like marble season. young leaders have got to show habits of heart and the habits of mind on a regular basis they especially have got to be responsible and show leadership. our young leaders from gri11 2.0 this year are ivy and Lola.

My Favorite space in gri11 2.0

My favourite place in GRi11 2.0 is the beanbags in the silent room. It's comfy and it's somewhere I can go to get away from from my friends. I enjoy hanging out with my friends but sometimes they can be noisy and i just need a space to get things done.
